Vitamix blenders are consistently rated the best blenders on the market, and that is because they are built to commercial standards. They are built to tolerances far beyond what they will encounter in real world use. Few blenders give such consistent results - even nuts and dates are blended to the tiniest particles. The Vitamix A2500 features a 1400 watt motor and a rugged stainless steel blade unit that is almost indestructible. Built like a tank, a Vitamix will be the last blender you'll ever buy.

The controls on the Ascent A2500 are simple. Turning the analog rotary dial left selects the power level from 1-10. Turning it to the right selects one of the three built-in programs (smoothie, frozen dessert, hot soup). A pulse toggle lets you manually control high-speed pulses. The digital display shows the time remaining for each program. When running the blender manually, the digital display shows time elapsed, allowing you to follow your own recipes.

The Ascent series features NFC (near field communication) technology that allows the blender to detect which blending jar is attached and adjust settings accordingly. It is also a safety feature, as the blender will not operate unless the blending jar is safely attached to the base. At the time of release, the only blending jar available for the Ascent is the included 2-liter container, However Vitamix plans to release two new "to-go" containers in the Fall of 2018. These will feature flip-top lids so you can take your blending jar with you on the road or to the gym, and will be available in 225 ml and 600 ml sizes. All Ascent blending jars are BPA-free and resistant to natural discoloring like that from beets or carrots. They are also dishwasher safe.

Vitamix is known for its keen attention to detail, and this shows in the A2500.

• Transparent lid: The Ascent series is the first from Vitamix to include clear lids. This helps to keep an eye on what is being blended.
• Magnetic safety fuse: Prevents the blender from operating if the lid is improperly attached.
• Low profile design: With a total height of 43 cm with the jar attached, the A3500 can fit under almost any kitchen cabinet.
• Feeding hole in lid: The plug in the middle of the lid can be removed to easily add ingredients without removing the entire lid.
• Tamper: A tamper is included which lets you reposition ingredients inside the jar without removing the lid or contacting the blades.
• Recipe book included: Included with the A3500 is a full color recipe book with detailed step-by-step instructions.
