Water distillation follows the same cycle of evaporation and condensation used in nature. Unlike filters which remove contaminants from water, distillation actually removes water from contaminants by heating it to a vapor, leaving behind organic compounds, heavy metals, chlorine, chloramines, and radionucleides among others. Water distillation involves the use of heat to boil the water and produce steam that will kill any bacteria and viruses. Once all of the water has vaporized, the vapor is led into a condenser where the water reverts to liquid form and is collected in the glass jug.

This distiller requires no assembly, no installation and no water hookups. Simply fill the stainless steel kettle with tap water, press the start button, and soon you’ll be enjoying the most deliciously pure and refreshing water you’ve ever had. The distilled water you will get is as soft as rainwater so your kitchen appliances will no longer have problems with the limescale and your tea will have a much better taste.

A four hour cycle will yield 3.8 liters of purifed water.

The integrated carbon filter in the Aqua Compact removes volatile organic compounds (VOCs) from the water which would not be removed by standard water distillers. Organic compounds can give the water a bad flavor so it is best to remove them, leaving you with pure, fresh-tasting water. The Charcoal Filter Sachets are an essential part of the water distillation process and should be replaced every three months for optimum results.
