Sana Smart Bread maker (standard)

The Sana Smart Bread Maker is the result of 20 years experience in bread baking. We have developed a multifunction home bread machine which we feel is the best on the market. This isn't just an empty claim – take a look for yourself at all the things you can do. It is available in three models - basic, standard, and exclusive. The machine itself is the same in all three models - the only difference is the included accessories.

Sana Smart Bread Maker display

Fully adjustable programs

Fully adjustable programs let you bake bread exactly to your liking. Flour of different grains have very specific characteristics and require different baking and rising times. The Sana Smart Breadmaker has 7 different programs. However, they are are all easily adjustable. By editing and saving them, you can create other new programs. The possibilities are endless.

Sana Smart Bread Maker pcb board

Programmable technology

The Sana Smart Breadmaker has two memory chips and its software can be easily updated. This means you can try different programs and save the ones you use the most. The electronic "heart" of the bread maker is produced in Europe and is unlike any other bread machine in the world. Being able to choose your own multiple baking and rising times and temperatures gives you complete flexibility.

Sana Smart Bread Maker bread pan stainless steel

Unique stainless steel bread pan and kneaders

The Sana Smart Bread Maker standard model comes with a stainless steel bread pan and stainless steel kneaders. Our bread machine is the only one on the market with a stainless steel pan. The pan includes glass lids which keep moisture in, allow lower baking temperatures, and help keep bread from sticking to the uncoated stainless steel. With stainless steel, you can be sure your bread is baked in the safest manner possible.

Sana Smart Bread Maker kneaders stainless steel

Kneaders and automatic batch processing

Some bread makers offer folding kneaders or automatic adding of seeds or nuts. The Sana Smart Bread Maker offers a much simpler solution: high-speed kneading. With high-speed kneading, the dough for your bread will be ready in three minutes. After that you can immediately remove the kneaders from the dough, instead of after the bread has been baked. Do you like seeds or nuts spread on top of the bread? Just sprinkle them on the dough after you remove the kneaders.

Sana Smart Bread Maker bread

Multiphase rising

Multiphase rising allows you set two separate rising times and temperatures. One benefit of this is that you can easily prepare homemade yeast. This is the best yeast you can possibly have - far better than what you'd get at the store. In addition, you save time and energy because you don’t have to preheat the bread maker or set a delayed start.

Versatility of Sana bread maker

Tempeh and Natto

5459-tempeh-cheese

Tempeh is a traditional Indonesian food known for both its health benefits and its unique walnut-mushroom flavor. It is typically made from soybeans, but can also be made from many other foods such as beans, sunflower seeds, peanuts, peas, rice, and wheat. Previously known mainly among vegetarians and vegans, it is now becoming more widespread and popular. It can be found in most health stores, and is gradually beginning to appear in more mainstream supermarkets. Tempeh is available unflavored, as well as marinated, smoked, and pickled.

Home made yogurt

5460-yogurt

Have you ever heard of the term “functional” foods? These are food products which, either naturally or artificially, have been enriched with healthy additives. The most widespread functional food in the world is yogurt which naturally contains probiotic bacterial cultures (Lactobacillus and Bifidobacterium). Because these cultures regulate digestion and help prevent colon cancer, yogurt is considered a superfood which should be eaten daily.

Jam, tea and purees

5461-jam

Most bread machines are able to make jam, but this feature is something most consumers never use. It’s too bad, since it’s so easy to do that most people who’ve tried it never go back to the traditional method of making jam. All you do is put the ingredients into the pan, set the program, start it, and come back later to freshly-prepared jam. The bread maker mixes and cooks the jam for you, and you don’t end up with a stack of dirty pans to clean. This program also can make lard, pig cracklings, jelly, tea, and purees.

Home made bread

5462-sana-bread

There are many reasons for baking bread at home, but the main ones are that you can use your own choice of ingredients and that homemade bread just tastes so much better than store-bought bread. Home-baked bread won’t have any of the chemicals or additives of store bought bread, and it won’t contain the ground remains of old bread like you can find in store-bought bread. Bread made from sourdough starter, instead of from yeast, has better flavor, aroma, and health benefits.

Meat and fish

5463-meat

The Sana Smart Bread is useful not just for baking bread, but as a substitute for a conventional oven. Meat and fish cooked in the Sana Smart Bread Maker are flavorful and juicy, which can’t always be said when using a conventional oven. By using a glass lid with the Smart Bread Maker, the cooking time is shortened and the meat comes out incredibly moist and delicious.

Amasake

5464-amasake

Amasake is a thick and creamy traditional Japanese dessert made from fermented grains. Popular among those who follow a macrobiotic lifestyle, this creamy dessert can be enjoyed by anyone. It doesn’t contain any refined sugars or sweeteners, but gets its sweet taste from the natural fermentation process which breaks down the complex sugars. When you first taste this healthy dessert, you’ll think that someone has put sugar into it, but it really is natural.

The bread making machine is great!

90%

Superb machine, well made, effective.

  • Stainless Steel pan and paddles
  • Customisable programs
  • Fine control of settings
  • Sturdy
  • Effective
  • Efficient
  • None

My rating is 4,5 stars.

  • The device is robust, but the lid hinge looks precarious. In addition some screws rusted at once. The inside of the machine stains easily and you can no longer clean. Finally missing a complete and well made recipe book: that attached is really too thin.

Sana Bread maker is workin fine. Video instructions from Sana website were useful at the beginning of the work. we bake bread only and program nr. 4 is our main mode of operation.

  • there is not even a bit of Teflon inside, backing is simple, there are several pre-programmed recipes, instructions can be easily changed, helpdesk is quick, kind and useful, delivery from the Czech Republic to Croatia was within 3 days, I can't remember exactly, but I think the warranty lasts a decent number of years etc.
  • higher price, nothing significant but an unusually short beeping every 1-2 hours after the bread is baked for which we were told that the device should be unplugged after use, the glass lids of the baking dish are good on the one hand, but on the other hand, if the glass , God forbid, it breaks or cracks....perhaps better some other material resistant to temperatures up to, for example, 250 oC, which is transparent and cannot crack like glass

Great !

  • Exactly as i imagined it.
  • What cons?

I'm not familiar with any food makers but from my research I would say Sana Smart Maker Standard is above average and excellent price for its quality.

  • It has 2 mixers, Glass covers and to windows.
  • Mostly, I like the stainless steel bucket.
  • I put my health (avoiding non-stick Teflon) before sticking bread.
  • I did not like the top glass ( though it's a very good idea )
  • since they are (easy) to break if a little careless handling
  • them. could fall in food.
  • Maybe thicker hardened glass or a single SST top cover could replace present glass.

Quite expensive and need to get used to programming, but fantastic healthy, stainless steal bread pan (the only one on the market I found!) and most importantly yummy bread!

  • Kneaders easy to remove
  • Programmable to your requirements
  • Fantastic to have a stainless steel baking tin so no worries about nasty chemicals
  • Looks great
  • Very good customer service
  • Comprehensive instructions online- especially YouTube videos
  • Glass lids seem a little precarious
  • Difficult to remove loaf without pre-greasing and cooling in tin
  • Programmable settings could be overwhelming to bread novices

Very good service , fast delivery considering it was international. No problems. Although I have not tried product out yet ....10/10 so far .

  • 10/10 so far no problems, although I have not tested out product yet...
  • No complaint although product has not been tested out yet .

Top rating--good friendly service, prompt delivery, and an added gift--the stainless steel was not easy to find and I thank Sana for making such a beautiful machine

  • all pros
  • no cons

Some parts of the bread machine were damaged. In consultation with the company, these documents were immediately resent. The delivery was very fast. I am very satisfied with the products. Very solid. definitely worth the money.

  • Some parts of the bread machine were damaged. In consultation with the company, these documents were immediately resent. The delivery was very fast. I am very satisfied with the products. Very solid. definitely worth the money.
  • very fast delevering. Solid products

I purchaed this mainly because of the stainless steel pan, as I couldn't find a stainless steel pan in any other machine.

So far I have used it with whole wheat bread, plus some cinnamon raisin bread. It took me while to play with the settings, as there aren't quick buttons for things like "sweet bread" or "white bread" like in my last bread machine. It is very flexible - you can change just about any setting - but it takes a while to figure out which settings work best.

One thing that I like are the glass lids. When I bake with them, the bread seems moister and I can use a lower temperature. I found that using the glass lids helps the bread not to stick to the stainless steel - just make sure to let the bread cool down before trying to remove it. My first loaf I tried to remove right away and some iof it stuck.

  • Stainless steel pans
  • Very flexible programming
  • Seems very solidly built
  • Can use very low temmperatures - we use it as a small dehydrator too
  • No quick recipe settings
  • Programming can be confusing at first

Great!

  • Excellent!

I did not receive a manual with the bread maker. I've received only some kind of small book with prescriptions for different breads. I would like to receive the manual book- I know there is available manual online, but I want it hard copy- book.

  • good quality. easy to use.
  • 1. big gaps at the joint of the two mixing fingers.
  • 2. When the bread maker finishes and shows how long was off- you cant press any button to leave this- you must switch it straight from the electric contact, otherwise if you press on/off button he machine automatically starts again with the already baked bread in it.

Excellent device I am very pleased thank you very much

  • There are many advantages to ordering from a good quality company

I recently bought the Sana Breadmaker because of the stainless steel bread pan, which I greatly appreciate. I have been using the machine to make 100 percent whole wheat bread almost daily now. The problem is, however, I have found I must do at least three 15 minute kneading cyles on high power (total of 45 minutes) in order to get the dough's gluten developed sufficiently before rising. I am worried that this length of hard kneading may wear out the machine. Can you tell me if you think the bread maker can handle 45 minutes (or more) of kneading on high power? I use freshly milled organic white winter wheat flour, and need to bake a loaf daily. Thank you!

Hello. If you are going to knead it that long, we would recommend speed 2. Sana recommends only 5 minutes kneading at maximum speed.

Amanda Brown , 6.3.2024 20:01 1 reply

The Sana Smart Breadmaker doesn't have a dedicated gluten-free program, but every setting is fully programmable. This includes kneading time and speed, rising time and temperature, and baking time and temperature. So you can program it according to your gluten-free recipe.
Shipping to the UK is 35€. Note that VAT is removed, but the UK will add import taxes and freight companies may impose a surcharge for processing import paperwork.

I'm very pleased with the bread maker. Reading other reviews I found some people struggling to take out the bread from stainless steel pan. Well I found very simple and easy way to do it without helping with any spatula or greasing the pan. Just when the bread it's ready (still hot or at least 30 minutes up to 1hr) take the pan out, put it upside down over clean towel and cover it with another towel. After 20-30 minutes the bread will fall down by it self because of the moisture generating from the bread.

For the Sana owners: You can try this method and include it in your video.

Hi Sana Store,

I live in NY, USA and I would love to buy the Sana Smart Bread Maker. While USA/Canada is listed under the "Country of Delivery" drop down menu during checkout, the only option under the "Billing and Shipping" tab is "personal pickup/own transport" (to an address in the Czech Republic) which is not something I can do (I'm sure I'm not the only one). When will shipping to the USA be available?

Sincerely,

Hello

We are unable to ship to the USA as our products only work on 220v 50hz power and are incompatible with US 110v 60hz power. Also, our shipper (TNT/FedEx) suspended economy international shipping from central Europe, so shipping costs are exorbitant.

A new model if the bread machine is in development for the US market, and we hope it will be available next year.

The Sana Bread Maker doesn't have specific programs for these items. It is designed for the user to enter and store their own programs according to their favorites recipes. There are 7 slots for programs, and parameters can be adjusted including kneading time and speed, 2 rise times and temperatures, preheat time and temperature, and 3 bake times and temperatures.

Hello,
I just bought your bread maker Sana Standard .
I have a question about" Important safeguards"
(page 2 of the Instruction manual)
It is said :"Before baking do not forget to cure the heat element inside
the bread maker ... program No4 15mn 180°C ...."
I don't really understand why and
is it absolutely neccessary to do this before each baking ?
Thanks in advance for your answer .BR
DO ba , 20.6.2020 15:16 1 reply

Hello

The factory puts a temporary coating on the heat element. Curing the heat element just burns off any residue before your first baking. It only needs to be done once, before using the bread machine for the first time.

We are currently in the prototype stage of a new model for the US market which we expect to have available next year.
It's possible to import the current machine to Europe and many customers have done this, but it's not something we generally recommend due to the following factors:

1) An expensive (apprx. $90) step up voltage transfermer is needed to operate it on US 110V
2) Shipping is pricey
3) No service centers in the USA
