Product description

Dios Shower Filter for Handheld Showers

The Dios shower filter removes chlorine from both cold and hot water (up to 90%), as well as chloramine, heavy metals, and hydrogen sulfide. The internal environment prevents the growth of bacteria and mold, ensuring consistently clean water without rust. Less limescale forms in your bathtub or shower enclosure. Most importantly, the filter delivers significant health benefits.

Why filter your shower water?

Filtering shower water is just as important as filtering drinking water — up to 50% of our daily chlorine exposure occurs during showering. Medical studies indicate that long hot showers are potentially unhealthy because evaporated chlorine is inhaled and partially absorbed through the skin. Highly reactive chlorine bonds with fatty acids and carbon, creating toxic compounds.

Negative effects of chlorine include:

  • Dry, flaky skin
  • Dry, brittle hair and dandruff
  • Red or irritated eyes after showering
  • Worsening of eczema, psoriasis, asthma, and chlorine allergies

The Dios shower filter reduces chemical absorption through the skin and inhalation, making your showering safer and healthier.

How does the filter work?

The Dios shower filter contains metal alloy granules (primarily copper and zinc), which—unlike carbon filters—effectively remove chlorine even in hot water.

  • Free chlorine is converted into harmless chloride.
  • Heavy metals and hydrogen sulfide bind to copper and zinc atoms.
  • The internal environment prevents bacteria, mold, and algae growth.
  • The electrochemical properties of copper and zinc reduce limescale formation.

How long does a filter last?

Filter life depends on chlorine concentration, pH, water hardness, and usage volume. The Dios filter has a capacity of approximately 30,000 liters, providing 12–18 months of use in a typical household of four.

A reduced water flow indicates that the filter is reaching the end of its lifespan.

Installation

Installation is simple and can be done by anyone. The Dios shower filter is screwed between the faucet and the shower hose.

  1. Unscrew the shower hose.
  2. Remove the old gasket and clean the threads thoroughly.
  3. Place a new gasket (2 included) on the filter inlet and screw it onto the faucet.
  4. Place the second gasket on the filter outlet and attach the shower hose.
  5. Tighten by hand only — do not overtighten.
